Tips To Deliver Excellent Customer Service
The
main factor in any customer service position is to set correct
expectations from the very start. Be clear about the options available
in resolving their issue and be detailed in the scope of your services.
If
they know from the start what you can and can't do, they will have less
ability to squeeze more out of you than you're willing or able to do.
Listen and reflect on what they said. It tells that you are listening. If you are a phone rep where the customer can't see you, make sure you always smile while you talk. It legitimately changes the tone of your voice, and customers will appreciate your friendliness.

Portray confidence in your work, even if you're new and unsure. If you're not confident in your abilities, the customer won't be either, and everything will take three times as long. If appropriate, try relating past resolutions.
Sometimes people will be a dick to you. If you get a significantly elevated heart rate and start stumbling over your words, it's time to hit the brakes and either approach things from a different angle or get in touch with a supervisor. Don't take things personally and never tell them to calm down, even when they're not in a good mood.
The customer is "always right" when they have a legitimate, reasonable concern. Let them know that you'll do your best to help them and solve their issues.
